In the device for drying pourable or fibrous material under vacuum, for example powder in the pharmaceutical industry, in the interior of a rotatable container on at least one hollow shaft fixed thereto, which receives or forms a connection element between at least one part of the interior and a suction-air generator, vacuum generator or the like, the transition between rotating and stationary part is to be kept impermeable. To this end, there projects into the hollow shaft (6), at a spacing from the interior (28), the mouth of a vacuum vapour pipe (37) which is rotatable relative to the shaft and the circumference of which is sealed, in particular vacuum-tight, in relation to the hollow shaft surrounding it. Preferably, the stationary vacuum vapour pipe (37) is in addition mounted radially close to its mouth, and the mouth of the vacuum vapour pipe (37) is located at the end, which is distant from the interior (28), of a pipe piece (32, 33) which is arranged between hollow shaft (6) and interior and is fixed to the container (1). <IMAGE>
