The invention relates to an artificial heart valve having an implantable heart-valve ring (10) in which two semicircular valve flaps (13) are rotatably mounted in a double-winged arrangement. In order to achieve a better approximation to the function of a healthy heart valve it is intended that the valve flaps (13) be arranged on a common axis (12) and carry mutually repelling permanent magnets (15) whose magnetisation is sufficient for preventing the valve flaps (13) from hitting one another. In particular, the permanent magnets (15) are arranged so as to be adjacent to the common axis (12), while further stops (15, 18) may be provided as a safeguard against tipping over of the valve flaps (13). <IMAGE>
