PURPOSE:To enhance the recovery efficiency of an available component, in separating and recorvering the available component of a metal salt or an acid contained in a metal surface treating waste liquid by an ion exchange membrane dialyzing method, by prelimiarily passing the waste liquid through a polystyrene fiber layer to remove water insoluble impurities. CONSTITUTION:In separating and recovering an available components such as dissolved metal salts or acids from a metal surface treating waste liquid such as a pickling waste liquid of steel or an anodic oxidation treating waste liquid of Al by an ion exchange membrane dialyzing method, the waste liquid is preliminarily passed through the fluffy layer of a polystyrene fiber treated with a nonionic surfactant to collect and remove fine particles of an insoluble metal and a metal oxide or the surfactant, an oil component in the fiber layer. In the next stage, a dissolvwd available component such as a metal salt and an acid is separated and recovered by an ion exchange membrane dialyzing method. Because the solid component is preliminarily removed, an ion exchange membrane is not damaged and the recovery of the available component is carried out in excellent recovery efficiency. |
