PURPOSE:To increase the speed of printing by a method in which during the forwarding period of a printing head, high or low density of printing is made, and during the returning period, high or low density of printing is made differently from the forwarding period. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 21 is the one to send forth such outputs as a carriage drive signal, a paper sending signal, and a letter image element signal according to signals from front panel, control signals from a computer, printing data, and codes representing the kinds of letters. The carriage drive signal from the control circuit 21 is supplied to a carriage sending pulse motor drive circuit 22 which drives the pulse motor 14 according to the signal supplied. The paper sending signal from the circuit 22 is supplied to a paper sending pulse motor drive circuit 23 which drives the pulse drive motor 24 for sending a paper 18 according to the signal supplied. |
