Steroid-21-halogeno-17-alkyl carbonate I(A = CO group, etc.; Y = H, F, Cl; Z = H, Cl, F, Me; R1 = F, Cl, Br, I; R2 = C1-10 alkyl; R3 = H, α- or β-Me, F, F-substituted methylene; dotted cycle presents a pyrazole cycle contg. halogen-substitutable phenyl group and is placed on the 2nd and 3rd C of the 3-deoxo-steroid), a useful antiinflammatory, was prepd. by reacting steroid-21-alkyl(or aryl)-sulfonate-17-(alkylcarbonate) with halogene anion-donating compd. in inert org. solvent or by reacting corticosteroid-17,21-(dialkyl ortho carbonate) with halogen donating org. or inorg. acid halide or triphenylmethyl chloride in inert org. solvent.
