PURPOSE:To detect the liquid level regardless of the effect of metal sludge at the bottom of a container, by mutually separately attaching an ultrasonic wave transmitter and an ultrasonic wave receiver at the positions on the outer surface of the bottom which are deviated from the lowest part of the container. CONSTITUTION:The liquid 12 is flowed in the container 11. The ultrasonic wave transmitter 13A and the ultrasonic wave receiver 13B are mutually separately attached to the parts, which are deviated from the lowest part in a specified cross section, on the outer surface of the bottom of said container 11. The ultrasonic wave transmitter 13A and the ultrasonic wave receiver 13B are located on both sides of the center of the container at the positions having the equal height. The ultrasonic wave, which is trasnmitted from the transmitter 13A is reflected by the interface between the air and the liquid in the container 11 and received by the receiver 13B. The liquid level is computed based on the receiving angle of said ultrasonic wave. |
