PURPOSE:To obtain a method and a device for recording by which the toners supplied to a recording drum are attracted strongly to electrodes and obviates the transfer of the unnecessary toners to paper, can form sharp images on plain paper, does not require cleaning of the device and reqires less maintenance, by providing a charge up elctrode. CONSTITUTION:A charge up electrode 23 is used to force the picture element- like toners 19 detached from a toner supplying machine 12 to be attracted strongly to respective electrodes, and is applied with the voltage higher than that upon the machine 12 from an electric power source. Where the toners 19 go nearest the paper 13, the switches for the picture elements selected according to the image signals are turned on and the negative voltage switches are turned off, then the selected toners 10 are transferred to the paper 13, but since the nonselected toners 19 are strongly attracted to the electrodes 2 on account of the presence of the electrode 23, the toners remain without the transfer to the paper 13 even when the negative voltage exists strongly in a conductive roller 14, and sharp images are obtained. |
