PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic material having superior sensitivity and surface potential attenuating characteristics by adding an acceptor and a dye to polyvinylcarbazole to sensitize the polyvinylcarbazole. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinylcarbazole is dissolved in benzene, 0.1-50wt% acceptor reagent is added to the soln. and well agitated to form a charge transferring complex, and 0.1-5wt% dye is further added. The resulting soln. having sensitivity up to the absorption wavelength peak of the dye is applied to an electrode with a wire bar or a spinner or a method such as dipping, and the solvent is removed. Thus, an electrophotographic material can be easily manufactured by a sensitizing method of this invention. The polyvinylcarbazole-base material shows high surface potential attenuating sensitivity to a mercury lamp and has superior electrophotographic characteristics. |
