PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device by providing a sheet turning over and returning means, turning over the sheets recorded on the front side and returning the same from a discharging part to the midway of a feeding line. CONSTITUTION:The copying sheet which is recorded on the front side is returned through a feed port 34 to the mid-way of a discharging line 20. The paper is turned over and returned at the speed higher than the ordinary processing speed of the sheet from the feeding part to the discharging part by a sheet turning over and returning means. The copying paper returned to the line 20 is again fed in the state of the rear side up into the transferring part, where the toner images on the drum 2 are again transferred on the rear side at an ordinary speed. The copying paper which is transferred with the toner images on the rear side is fed into a fixing device 17 by a conveying belt 23, and the toner images on the rear side are fixed to complete the recording on both sides. The paper is then discharged into a discharging part C. Thus the sheets are recorded on both sides continuously without the need for stacking and holding the sheets recorded on the front side once in an intermediate tray and since there is no need for the intermediate tray, the device is made smaller in size. |
