PURPOSE:To radiate light efficiently and uniformly by simple and inexpensive constitution by using a photoconductor rod of which the refractive index increases as it goes further from the central axis and introducing light into the rod from the end face thereof. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductor rod 2 is so constituted that the refractive index thereof increases as it goes further from the central axis. When the light released from a photoconductor 1 is introduced into the rod 2 from the end face of the rod 2, the light is bent toward the higher of the refractive index in the rod 2 and is radiated approximately uniformly from the peripheral part of said rod 2. Thus the light is radiated efficiently and uniformly with the simple and inexpensive constitution. |
