<p>PURPOSE:To provide a cylinder output appropriate to its use, by connecting the pressure chamber of the cylinder to an intensifier to which air pressure is applied and by using the change in the volume of the air pressure chamber of the intensifier to control the oil pressure of the hydraulic chamber of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An intensifier 8 has an air pressure chamber 27 behind a large- diameter piston 23 and an oil pressure chamber 26 in front of a small-diameter piston 24. A pressurized air source 14 communicates with the air pressure chamber 27 through a pressure reducing valve 30. The drawing shows an embodiment applied to the die buffer cylinder 1 of a press. The upper die of the press is moved down to pinch a material on the lower die. When the upper die is further moved down, the piston 4 of the cylinder 1 descends against oil pressure so that oil in an oil pressure chamber 2 enters into another oil pressure chamber 26 through pipes 6, 7 and pushes the pistons 24, 23 leftward to heighten the pressure of the air pressure chamber 27. As a result, the pressure of the oil pressure chamber 26 rises to increase the supporting force of the cylinder 1. Die buffer pressure desirable for press work is thus produced.</p> |
