STEERING GEAR FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To ensure the left and right smooth movement of a connecting rod in a steering gear capable of steering front and rear wheels by connecting a connecting rod interconnecting a crank pin coupled with an input shaft and a rear wheel side tie rod connecting rod to another connecting rod through a ball bearing. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel side steering mechanism in the heading steering gear is provided with an input shaft 25 rotatably interlocked with a steering wheel not shown and aided by a power cylinder 32 with respect to the steering operation. The rotation of the input shaft 25 is transmitted to a connecting rod 19 through a crank mechanism A to move linearly left and right a tie rod 18 for steering the rear wheels. In this case the crank mechanism A is constituted from a crank pin 27 ecentrically coupled with the input shaft 25 and a connecting rod 28 for transmitting the movement of the pin 27 to the connecting rod 19. The connection between said connecting rod 19 and connecting rod 28 provides a ball joint for locating the center I of a ball portion 29a on the axis J of the connecting rod 19.
