PURPOSE:To improve an effect of heat radiation, in an electromagnetic brake filled with a magnetic pulverulent body in an annular gap between a field core and external cylinder unit, by both easily adjusting brake power and performing maintenance, that is, by axially displaceably providing a magnetic circuit selector pipe to the periphery of the external cylinder unit. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic circuit selector pipe 25 is placed at a position as shown by a full line in the drawing, a part of a peripheral wall part 18A of an external cylinder unit 18 not appearing with the said pipe 25, is not allowed for magnetic flux to pass, and a peripheral wall part 20A of a cylinder unit 20 is locked its rotation by small brake force because integrally binding magnetic circuit selector pipe 25 is moved to a position as shown by a virtual line in the drawing, the magnetic flux passes through both base part side and end part side of the peripheral wall part 18A in the external cylinder unit 18, intermediately provided with a magnetically cut part 24 through the magnetic circuit selector pipe 25, and magnetically binding force of the magnetic pulverulent body 21 is increased to maximum, then the cylinder unit 20 going to rotate can be applied with a strong brake. |
