PURPOSE:To produce an effect similar to that of a plain bearing, by providing action passages, tunnel passages and connecting passages, between the body of a bearing and a vertical shaft, so that endless circulation passages are formed for balls of very small diameter. CONSTITUTION:Ribs 2 are provided outside a bearing sleeve 1. An outer cylinder 3 is tightly fitted outside the ribs 2. Action passages (a) and tunnel passages (b), which have the same cross-sectional area, are provided between a vertical shaft S and the sleeve 1 and between the sleeve 1 and the outer cylinder 3. Connecting passages (c) are defined by covers 4. As a result, endless circulation passages are formed for balls B of very small diameter. The numerous balls B are filled between all the friction surfaces of the vertical shaft S and the action passages (a) so that the balls circulate endlessly. According to this constitution, the load carrying capacity is heightened and an effect similar to that of a plain bearing is produced. |
