A lifting device, which can be built on to a fixed part of a building or to a vehicle, has a platform, from one edge of which a short arm projects substantially at right angles to the plane of the platform and on which two telescopic connecting rods are articulated, one of which is designed as a double-action piston, and which are articulated by their other ends to a stationary component, the double-action piston being capable of greater extension than the other connecting rod and conventional controls being provided to actuate the double-action piston. <IMAGE> |
