PURPOSE:To prevent the oil in tanks from flowing into ballast pipes when cracks occurs on the pipes and so on by providing ballast trunks in cargo tanks independently from the tanks and arranging the ballast pipes through the trunks so as to fill them with the ballast. CONSTITUTION:Ballast trunks 7 which are independent partitions separated from individual cargo tanks are arranged along the bulkhead 8 between individual cargo tanks 2D-2F, 3D-3G and center tanks 1, and ballast pipes 10, 11 extended from a pump room 6 pass through the trunks 7. Therefore, when individual valves 12 are opened and the pump is operated, the ballast sea water is filled in individual ballast trunks 7 through the ballast pipes 10, 11, thereby no oil in the cargo tanks will flow into the ballast pipes 10, 11 even if cracks occur on these pipes. |
