PURPOSE:To prevent generation of projection and distortion of a base plate consisting of metal owing to welding and to obtain a thin dial of good appearance and quality by applying thick plating on the parts to be welded with feet of the base plate, and welding the feet onto the thick plating. CONSTITUTION:A film 3 of a photosensitive resin or the like is coated on a dial base plate 1 which consists of brass or German silver and is blanked to a desired shape by pressing or the like. The coating film 3 in the parts 2 to be welded with desired feet is removed and plating 4 is applied on said parts. After the formation of the plating 4, the coating film 3 over the entire surface of the dial is removed, and plating 4 is applied. Thereafter, the feet are welded onto the thick plating 4 by electric resistance welding or brazing. According to this invention, the surface distortion of the base plate owing to projecting of the base plate surface or the bending of the feet in the stage of welding of the feet is prevented, and the thin dial of good appearance and quality is produced easily. |
