PURPOSE:To increase the strength with a simple structure by bending the lower edge of an inner panel outward and connecting it to the back face of a fender panel so as to form a closed cross section in the longitudinal direction in the connecting structure of both fender and inner panels at the rear of a car body. CONSTITUTION:An inner panel 13 is arranged on the upper section of the feder panel 11 below a rear guarter window 12 inside the compartment. An upper vertical section 11a, slant section 11b, and lower extension section 11c are connected in succession as the panel 11, and a recessed groove 11e is formed on the outside face 11d of the lower extension section 11c. An upper vertical section 13a, upper slant section 13b, intermediate vertical section 13c, lower slant section 13d, and lower vertical section 13e are connected in succession as the panel 13. Furthermore, both upper vertical sections 11a, 13a of said both panels 11, 13 and the back face 11f of the recessed groove 11e of the panel 11 and the lower vertical section 13e of the panel 13 are spot welded respectively to form a closed cross section A in the longitudinal direction, then a molding member 14 is fitted to the recessed groove 11e so as to cover welding traces. |
