PURPOSE:To reduce oversteering in turning, by inclining rubber bushings for supporting trailing arms on an automobile body, so that the axes of the bushings intersect each other in front of the straight line extending between the bushings. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel suspension 1 comprises trailing arms 8 fitted with rubber bushings 4 on brackets 2 mounted on an automobile body 1, and a torsion beam 9 which coupleds the right and the left trailing arms 8 to each other. Rear wheels 12 are mounted on shafts 10 provided on the rear ends of the arms 8. The right and the left brackets 2 are so mounted that the axes of the rubber bushings 4 intersect each other in front of the straight line extending between the bushings. As a result, the center of resultant elasticity of the rubber bushings 4 is caused to near the line of action of cornering force to diminish the rotational displacement of the shafts 10 to reduce oversteering in turning. |
