A slide or traveller for securing a sail (4) to a spar (1) comprises a body (7), a connecting member (8) and a mounting member (9), whereby the body (7) is disposed in a track (2) in the spar (1), the connecting member (8) protrudes out of the track (2) via a slit (3) in the spar (1) and the mounting member (9) is designed for fastening of the sail (4). In order to provide, at slides of the above type, an embodiment permitting the sail to extend close to the mast or boom while at the same time the slide gets the strength and flexibility required, the slide according to the invention is characterised by the fact that the connecting member (8) and the mounting member (9) comprises a flexible strip (10) protruding from the portions (11) of the slide body (7) facing the slit (3) and to which the sail (4) is fastened by means of at least one mounting means (12 and/or 13) extending through the strip (10) and the sail (4) at a distance (A) from the slide body (7) only slightly exceeding the depth (b) of the slit (3). <IMAGE> |
