PURPOSE:To make it possible to provide various functions (give meanings) in one type and to make it possible to perform adequate printing even in a paper feeding means wherein minute change is impossible, by providing a type selecting structure wherein the upper and lower positios of a type body is minutely changed. CONSTITUTION:The type body 3 is constituted by a finger 15 wherein the types 14 are provided at upper and lower stages of two. The selection of the types in the upper and lower positions is performed by moving a shaft up and down by the rotary movement of a cam 11 which is driven by a stepping motor 2. Namely, when the cam 11 is located at the position shown by (b), the type body 3 is located at the lifted position D. When the cam 11 is located at the position shown by (c), the type body 3 keeps the lowered position E. The number of the steps of the stepping motor 2 from the positions D to E is arbitrarily specified. The position of the typing body 3 is specified at, e.g. positions h, i, j, k, and l. Then, e.g. in printing an Umlaut and the like in German characters, the type can be commonly used for capital letters and small letters by minutely moving the type ''..'' up and down. |
