PURPOSE:To obtain a press machine housing of high rigidity and strength by cutting out unit block of housing from a composite steel material made by combining and welding plural steel materials and welding the joint plane of each block. CONSTITUTION:Blocks 2, 3, 4 of the size necessary to form a housing are cut out from a large composite steel material made by putting steel materials (a), (b), (c) together and combined by a welding steel (d). A block 5 provided with a member 8 for pressing device at the center is manufactured separately from cast steel. This block 5 and blocks 2, 3, 4 cut out from the composite steel material 7 are put together and combined by welding. By this way, press machine housings stable in quality and shape can be manufactured without causing defects in the core of unit blocks 2, 3, 4, 5. |
