<p>The air intake (1) of an IC engine is fitted with a slide valve (4) which is upstream of the throttle (2). The pressure upstream of the throttle (P1) is transmitted by a passage (5) to a piston (6) which operates slide valve (4) and also moves the profiled fuel supply needle (10). Air fed through a bleed (13) is mixed with fuel, compressed in a compressor (14) and injected into the suction manifold (3) just upstream of each cylinder inlet valve through a line (17). Valves (19) and (20) respond to engine operating parameters and control the air bleed.</p> |
