PURPOSE:To perform an accurate detection of a burning condition without being influenced by a complicated change in ambient temperature, by a method wherein an inflammable gas detecting element is set in a primary combustion chamber, temperature dependence of the element is compensated, and a gas mixing means is mounted to the upstream side of the element. CONSTITUTION:An inflammable gas detecting element 28 is mounted to an upper part of a primary combustion chamber 24. In the element 28, the temperature of the element is detected by an electrode serving as both temperature measurement and resistance, and is maintained in a constant state through control of a heater. A gas mixing means 29 is located at the upstream side of the element 28 of the primary combustion chamber 24 to eliminate concentration distribution, formed in a direction being perpendicular to a flow path of combustion gas, of a gas composition. This eliminates a complicated change in the temperature of the element, the presence of unreacting fuel, and the presence of concentration distribution in burning gas, and permits the reliable detection of a burning condition without being influenced by ambient air. |
