PURPOSE:To quicken and facilitate the confirmation of the position of the termination to a connector by a method wherein an arbitraty core wire made to have a prescribed potential on the cut side of a multicore cable is selected by scanning at the other end and displayed by its wire gage and this is confirmed by using an inspecting receptacle. CONSTITUTION:The receiver 5 of a wire-gage collating unit 9 connected to one side 2 of a cable 10 through the intermediary of multicouple connectors 3 and 4 is arranged on the cut side 1 of the cable, and a connector 41 to be connected is fitted in the inspecting receptacle 51 of the unit 9. Next, one core wire 12 to be connected is dropped to an earth potential by a clip 6, each core wire is scanned by the wire-gage collating unit 9 to detect this potential, and a preset wire gage is displayed 11 in the receiver 5. Then the core wire 12 made to have this earth potential is made to contact sequentially with each terminal of the connector 41, and when it comes to a position corresponding to the wire gage, the buzzer 34 of the receiver 5 sounds. Therefore, the position of termination to the connector 41 can be confirmed quickly and easily. |
