<p>PURPOSE:To improve working environment considerably by connecting the top end of a scrap box airtightly to the flange surface at the bottom end in the upper vessel of a furnace, collecting all the scraps of brick pieces into the scrap box in the repairing stage of the inside of the upper vessel, and sucking and discharging the powder dust produced by the dropping of said scraps through a duct. CONSTITUTION:A scrap box B is made into the double construction consisting of a cup-like body 1 of a scrap box having an opening at the top end, and a cup-like bag 2 enclosing said body concentrically and having an opening likewise in the upper part. The circumferential edge at the top end of said bag 2 is pressed and joined airtightly to the bottom flange part (a) of an RH furnace or the like A. All the scraps of brick pieces in the repairing stage of the furnace A are captured in the box B. An opening 5 is provided in the upper part of the side wall of the bag 2 and is communicated with one end of a dust discharging duct 7. Therefor, the dust produced in the bag 2 is discharged through the duct 7. Elastic bodies, for example, springs 3 are interposed between the bottom plate of the body 1 and the bottom plate of the bag 2.</p> |
