The motorcycle twist grip has a grip surface on a barrel controlling a throttle cable which is reeled onto the barrel, attached to a point on its periphery. The barrel (22) has two adjacent hands (23,24) with different profiles to engage the end of the cable (4). The grip has a control to select which of the two profiles the cable is wound onto on rotation of the barrel. The two profiles can have different curvatures, and their ends engaging the cable can have the same generating point on the barrel.
