A sheet-metal container comprises a body (1) having an external edging (2) and and a press-in cover (3) having a wall (4) which is in frictional engagement with an internal wall of an open end of the body, from which wall (4) curves outwardly a hook member (6) which substantially encompasses the edging (2), and between the edging and which is located an elastically resilient sealing means (55), the hook member (6) of the cover (3) extending to an inwardly pointing bead (7) which, when the cover is in its sealed position, frictionally locks beneath the edging and terminates in an outwardly projecting edging (8), and the press-in cover extends inwardly into a concavely- arched cover surface (16) via a horizontal bead (10) having a connecting wall (14), wherein the horizontal bead (10) has an asymmetrical cross-section, transitional regions extending from the wall (4) to the bead base (11) and from the bead base (11) to the substantially vertical connecting wall (14) being formed by curves (12, 13), the radius of the first curve (12) being greater than that of the second curve (13). <IMAGE> |
