<p>The tractor attachment crushes vine-shoots, using a front opening (15) housing (8) comprised of top (19) bottom (20) and side walls to locate radial hammers pinned to a vertical drive shaft (16). The hammers (21) are sited in different horizontal planes, each having a head on an arm (23) pinned (24) between two discs (22). Counter gearing (7) mounted overhead uses a splined shaft (32) to take drive from the tractor's power point whilst its outgoing shaft (29) transmits drive to the hammer axle. The transmission uses an endless belt (27) and pulleys (26,28). The rear of the housing (39) may also be open, may be half round in plan, and locate bars (42) parallel to the hammer shaft, the inside faces of the side walls locating studs (43) which assist in crushing.</p> |
