PURPOSE:To obtain an electrochromic display (ECD) device which has long life by interposing an intermediate layer made of a mixture of a display electrode material and an EC material between the display electrode and EC material layer of the display device, and thus eliminating the peeling between the display electrode and EC material layer. CONSTITUTION:After a display electrode 2 is formed of In2O3, SnO2, etc., e.g. In2O3 on the glass substrate 1 of an ECD device, WO3 mixed with about 1- 10wt% In2O3 is vapor-deposited to an about 100-1,000Angstrom thickness to form an intermediate layer 3. Then, WO3 is vapor-deposited to a 2,000-6,000Angstrom thickness to form an EC layer 4. Thus, the intermediate layer 3 improves the adhesive strength between the display electrode 2 and EC layer 4 to prevent their peeling even when coloring and decoloring are repeated, obtaining a durable ECD device. |
