The invention relates to a covering, in particular roof covering, which is made up of elements provided with longitudinally directed cavities and in the case of which said elements are provided, along the mutually facing sides, with connecting elements for pushing neighbouring elements one into the other in the longitudinal direction. In order to design the covering, with simple parts and simple mounting, in a self-supporting manner and such that it is possible to walk on it, the invention provides that the elements are designed as individual plastic tube portions, on the outer connecting lines of which the connecting elements are integrally formed, that the ends of the plastic tube portions are braced in clamping bearings which run parallel to one another and are at a spacing which is smaller than the length of the plastic tube portions, and that the inclinations of the clamping bearings are aligned with the curvature of the upwardly convexly arched plastic tube portions.
