A microsurgical instrument comprising a preferably cylindrical handle, a working end extending forwards from the handle and a support shaft extending backwards from the handle and in which the working end is angled relative to the handle with a support shaft. In clamps, tweezers, forceps, scissors and similar instruments having a two-part handle the plane of the separating line between the two parts of the handle can be twisted relative to the plane of the separating line between the two branches, preferably in an anticlockwise direction as seen from the support shaft.
