The invention relates to a pressure control valve, in which a slide can be displaced between a first position and a plurality of other positions under the action of an elastic means. In the first position, the slide can bring a channel connected to a load into communication with a second channel which, for its part, is connected to a discharge reservoir. In the plurality of other positions, the slide can bring the first channel into communication with a third channel which, for its part, is connected to a source of a pressurised fluid medium. The slide has a first and a second active surface responding to the pressure of the medium in the first and third channel respectively; the elastic means exerts a predetermined force thereon in the first position.
