发明名称 NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR LITHIUM BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a secondary lithium electrode with an excellent charge-and- discharge characteristic by using a negative electrode prepared by making lithium to be carried over a porous nickel member having above 35 holes with 2.54cm diameter. CONSTITUTION:A porous nickel having 55-65 holes with 2.54cm diameter (specific surface area, 8,500m<2>/m<3>) is subjected to an electrodeposition carried out in INLiClO4/propylene carbonate at a constant current of 1mA/cm<2> for 20 to 24hr so as to make nickel to deposit over the above porous nickel, thereby obtaning an electrode having an effective reaction surface area of 1cm<2>. After that, a battery is assembled by using thus obtained electrode as a counter electrode, a Pt electrode as an active electrode, and Li as a reference electrode, and the charge-and-discharge characteristic of the Li electrode is measured by depositing Li over the Pt electrode. Here, as an electrolyte, a solution prepared by dissolving INLiClO4 in 1l of propylene carbonate is used. As is obviously seen from the figure, the charge-and-discharge characteristic of the negative Li electrode is remarkably improved from that of the conventional example (b) by using as the negative Li electrode, an electrode (a) prepared by depositing lithium over a porous nickel having 55-65 holes with 1 inch diameter.
