Locomotion means propelled by human muscle power hitherto have only ever utilised arms or legs as driving means: cf. bicycles and pedalos, on the one hand, wheelchairs and canoes or rowing boats on the other. The patent applied for here is intended to make use of the muscle power of all four limbs at the same time for the drive of wheeled vehicles. This is brought about by attaching an additional pedal and chain system in the front part of a conventional bicycle or pedalo. This additional driving system is moved by the hands. Hand pedals and handlebars are integrated to form a unified crank. In order when making steering movements to avoid a collision between front-wheel chain and bicycle frame, the upper connecting rod of the frame is led to the front wheel above the steering/pedal crank, and the lower connecting rod from the side, in each case using a hook piece projecting beyond the chain radius. The additional front-wheel drive is only possible on straight stretches. The system can be used in bicycles, tandems, tricycles, boats, planes using a combination of gliding and propeller drive and optionally rail vehicles. In some forms of use (tandem, rail, boat), all four pedals can be connected directly to a single chain etc.
