An automatic balance stay in which the spiral parts (1a) of torsion springs (1), (1') are wound to be axially deformed in compression, disposed axially between frictional plates at both sides, and both arms (1b), (1c), (1b'), (1c') of the respective torsion springs (1), (1') are connected at the ends to the opening and closing members and a frame for pivotally securing the members. When a cover is opened, it is balanced between the downward force of the own weight of the cover and the spring tension è &darr& EXIST the frictional force. Accordingly, the opening and closing member such as the cover or the like can be self-held at an arbitrary rotary position. |
