PURPOSE:To allow a fixing roller to be rotated manually in an optional direction in case of a jam through simple constitution, by permitting the rotating shaft of a gear to be driven to slide freely in an axial direction. CONSTITUTION:If a form wound around a fixing roller 2 is not peeled off with a peeling pawl, a jam detector operates to stop a main motor, and stopping the rotation of the roller 2. In this case, drawing one end of a rotating shaft 15 disengages a gear 12 to be driven from a driving gear 22, and the gear 12 engages the gear 11 of the roller 2. Then, the roller 2 rotates freely together with the gear in an optional direction through simple constitution according to the manual rotation of the knob 16. For this purpose, reversing the roller 2 returns the form wound around the roller 2 onto a conveyor belt and remove, also a cold offset caused by the interruption of electric power supply to a heater in the roller is also prevented as well as jam detection. |
