摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To speed up the restart of processing of a computer system by discriminating whether backup is normal or not just after reconnection of electric power supply. CONSTITUTION:If an AC input is broken, an output from a battery 2 is supplied to an output voltage controlling circuit 5 through a diode 3b and a switch 4. When the remaining capacitance of the battery 2 is reduced and the value of DC output voltage exceeds a prescribed range, a latch type relay 8 is driven by a voltage failure detecting circuit 6 and the output voltage controlling circuit 5 is stopped to be operated. The latch type relay 8 keeps its status also after breaking its driving current. At the time of returning the AC input, DC voltage is restored through a rectifing circuit 1 and each circuit is returned to the ready status. Just after the restoration, a CPU 10 reads out the status of a relay contact 9 through a controlling part 12 of a semiconductor storage device 11 and discriminates at the time of opening or closing the relay contact 9 in the backup state of the battery is as normal or as abnormal, respectively.</p>
