The device is used for the selective arming of a bomb which can be ejected from an aircraft and is suspended on at least one hook (7) which can pivot. The bomb has an eye (8) which activates detonation when it is pulled off. The device contains an electromagnet (2), an armature (1) which is allocated thereto and is supported such that it can rotate, and a lever (4) which is acted on by spring force, can be locked against the influence of the spring force by means of the armature and is provided with a tab (5) for engagement in the eye. In order to be able to eject the bomb at any time selectively in the armed state or unarmed state, it is provided that, when the bomb is attached, the armature (1) rests on the electromagnet (2) and at the same time locks the lever (4) in a position which holds its tab (5) engaged with the eye (8). The bomb is armed when the electromagnet (2) is activated at the same time that the hook (7) is pivoted up. If this is inhibited, then the bomb falls in the unarmed state. <IMAGE>
