S-BENZYL THIOLCARBAMATES AND THEIR USE IN CONTROLLING WEEDS IN RICE FIELDS

Novel S-benzyl thiolcarbamates, having the formula in which R<1> is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methoxy, R<2> is selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, and allyl, and R<3> is selected from the group consisting of straight-chain C3-C6 alkyl optionally substituted with one or two methyl groups, and allyl. The compounds are particularly effective in the control of weeds associated with rice crops.
