PURPOSE:To automatically determine the transmission speed, by changing the speed of a transmission time signal at predetermined time intervals and establishing the line with the predetermined procedure. CONSTITUTION:A computer 1 selects the transmission speed by turning on and off a signal 10 with an internal program control. When a signal 10 is set, that is, at logical ''1'', a MODEM 2 supplies a high speed transmission/reception element timing signal 11/12 to the computer 1 to execute high speed data transmission. When the signal 10 is reset, that is, logical ''0'', the MODEM 2 supplies a low speed transmission/reception element timing 11/12 to the computer 1 for the execution of low speed data transfer. Thus, without the operator, the otimum transmission speed can be selected. |
