PURPOSE:To obtain a stable color image without requiring a water-washing step, by color developing a silver halide color photographic material using the dye formation method, and then, processing it with a bleach-fixing solution containing the iron salt of polycarboxylic acid and an aq. solution of an organic phosphonic acid. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide color photographic material using the dye formation method is color developed, and processed with a bleach-fixing solution containing the iron salt of polycarboxylic acid, such as ferric ammonium ethylenediaminetetraacetate. Then, it is processed at 10-60 deg.C for 0.5-2min in water containing 1-100g/l organic phosphonic acid represented by formulaI, II, III, or IV in which R1-R6 are each H, hydroxy, alkyl, amino, alkoxy, alkylamino, arylamino, or aryloxy; R7-R13 are each H, hydroxy, -COOM, -PO3M2, or alkyl; R14 is H or alkyl; and M is an alkali metal, such as Na or K. This method permits a color image to be enhanced in stability, and problems, such as occurrence of fog due to aging to be solved. |
