PURPOSE:To discharge a harmful ozone flow generated by AC discharge easily and securely, by installing a discharger having an opening part at a side part at a lower position than the horizontal shaft of a photosensitive element. CONSTITUTION:A discharger 6b for a photosensitive drum 1 which has an opening part at a side part is installed at a lower position than the horizontal shaft of the drum 1, and an ozone flow generated by Ac discharge through an electrode 15 is heavier than air, so it moves down ward through the opening part. Then it is discharged easily and securely in the converying direction of transferring paper 12 by a disturbed air flow caused by the transfer paper under conveying. Therefore, no harmful ozone flow stays in the discharger 6b to prevent deterioration in picture quality, the reducting of the life of the drum 1, etc., due to the surface deterioration of the drum as well as deterioration in the discharging characteristics of the discharger 6b. |
