Ferrite core for inductive proximity switches

Ferrite cores for inductive proximity switches have a central part (12), enclosed by the coil, and an edge part (10) enclosing the coil, and the central part and the edge part are in each case located with their free end face (9, 11) at the response side of the proximity switch. The invention is based on the object of increasing the response distance of an inductive proximity switch of a given size. For this purpose, it is provided that at least one part area of the free end faces (9, 11) of central part (12) and edge part (10) are inclined with respect to one another in such a manner that the normals of the areas (NZ, NR) diverge. This results in a magnetic field which extends farther with the same overall dimension of the ferrite core, and thus in a greater response distance. <IMAGE>
