PURPOSE:To obtain a rotating angular velocity detector with multifreedom od degree, by forming one or a plurality of optical fiber rings other than circle for the objective of rotary anglular speed detection and constituting an interference meter with the optical fiber rings, light source and detection section. CONSTITUTION:An elliptic optical fiber ring 6, a light source 1 and a detection section 4 constitute uniaxial rotary angular speed detector. By taking this uniaxial angular velocity detector as a building block, a plurality of elliptic optical fiber rings are formed at the side of the same cylinder or cylindrical shape to constitute a rotating angular velocity tester detecting the rotating angular velocity relating to each axis of an arbitrary fixed coordinate system. Thus, the rotating angular velocity detector with degree of multi-freedom can be obtained. |
