PURPOSE:To eliminate troubles with a cleaner in a recorder in which an electrostatic latent image is formed by a multi-stylus electrode by using a system in which a device to detect the feeding failure of a recording sheet and the transferring failure of toner image is provided and the multi-needle electrode is isolated from the recording medium in the event of malfunctioning. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric material 1 having an uniform and fine uneven surface is moved circularly, a multi-stylus electrode 4 is contacted with the surface of the dielectric material 1 to form an electrostatic latent image, and the latent image is toner-developed and transferred to a recording sheet, followed by fixation. In such a recorder, a photo senser 16 is provided in the rear of a transfer charger 8 on the delivery path of the recording sheet S. When the delivery failure of the recording sheet S is detected by the sensor 16 and the failure of transfer is detected by measuring the drop of voltage due to a resistance R inserted into between a charging power source E and the transfer charger 8 by a senser 17, a solenoid SOL is actuated to separate the multi-stylus electrode 4 from the recording medium 1. |
