PURPOSE:To prevent a reduction of sensitivity due to sticking of components in a sample to the surface of an electrode, by using an automatic opening and closing apparatus equipped with a timer so as not to operate an electrochemical detector at the time when the components unnecessary to analyze pass through a detection cell. CONSTITUTION:In the liqud chromatography using an electrochemical detector 4 such as a coulometeric detector or voltammeteric detector etc., at the time of measuring components in body fluids such as urine, blood serum etc., the body fluids are sent from a liquid sending system 1 to a separation column 3 through an automatic sample introducing apparatus 2 and thereby eluted and separated components are sent to a detection cell 5 without preliminarily removing the components unnecessary to measure (but solid matter is removed). When the insoluble matter is passed through the cell 5 by using e.g. an automatic opening and shutting apparatus attached a timer 7, an electric current turned on the detector 4 is cut and the current is turn on again after passing the cell 5. In this manner, it is prevented to reduce the sensitivity of the electrode surface due to sticking matter and also, the pretreatment to require time is unnecessary to perform and then, attains a simple analysis. |
