<p>The mechanism discharges sheets from the underside of a stack (2), having a stop strip (3) along one side of the latter, and transporter members (15) bearing against the lowermost sheet and working parallel to the strip. A retainer holds the sheets back above the lowermost one. Driven friction members (9,11) are in contact with the underside of the stack, their movement having a component in the direction of the stop strip. There can be a further stop strip (4) along the forward edge of the stack, forming with the transporter members a gap for the sheets. The distance between each of the friction members and the rear edge of the stack is greater than that between the effective portion of the retainer (17) and the front stop strip.</p> |
