PURPOSE:To enable printing of a high-quality and a good image, by a method wherein; in a sheet consisting of a substrate and a coating layer formed at least on the surface of the substrate for a hot melt ink to be transferred, a solvent-soluble polyamide resin is contained in the coating layer as an essential ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A coating layer containting a solvent-soluble polyamide resin as an essential ingredient is formed at least on the surface to be transferred of a sheet to be transferred. The usable solvent-soluble polyamide resin is a resin of a reaction product of a dimer acid and a polyamine, having a softening point of the order of 230 deg.C or less. The provision of the coating layer makes it possible to obtain a sheet to be transferred remarkably superior in transfer efficiency. The blocking is avoided by providing the coating layer containing a waxy substance on the surface to be transferred.
