PURPOSE:To save energy and reduce curing time of organic film, by forming an organic film of radical curing paint on the surface of an irregularly shaped article and irradiating the article with electron beam for formation of cured film while the article is being conveyed or it is taking a rolling action. CONSTITUTION:A paint prepared by dissolving an organic film-forming component consisting of a radical-polymerizable compd. having at least one (meth) acryloyl group in the molecular[e.g. benzyl (meth)acrylate]or its blend with an organic polymer[e.g. homo- and co-polymers of (meth)acrylic ester, PVC, uretahne resin]in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. trichloroethylene, methylene chloride) is applied to the surface of an irregularly shaped article by dip coating. The coating film is irradiated with electron beam while the article is being conveyed or is rolling. The method saves required energy and reduces curing time to a remarkable extent as compared with a conventional baking process. |
